Kathmandu: Day 1

Holy buckets, what a vibrant city!

THE TIMING OF MY VISIT COULDNT BE BETTER, THE WHOLE TOWN IS LIT UP WITH LIGHTS, SOUNDS, AND FESTIVITIES IN CELEBRATION OF tihar/Diwali. Children are running around with drums, singing door to door in hopes of getting treats/gifts. Everywhere you look there are colorful rangolis in welcome of the gods and goddess. THis five day festival is the second biggest in nepal and everyone gets three days off, meaning the streets are full and spirits are high!

Got to meet my new trekkin’ buddies and share dinner. Tomorrow will be an explore day. Now off to Early bed to fight the jetlag!
